CUTTING REQUIREMENTS:

• Cut sky background fabric 11" square
• Cut one each of background fabric and batting 16" square
• Cut 4 strips of accent border 1" x 12"
• Cut 4 strips of wide border 2 1/2" x 16"
• Cut 2 strips of binding fabric 2 1/2" x 42" and piece together to make one long strip.

1. Quick fuse appliqué pieces onto the RS of your background fabric in the following order:
   • Flag: red sides, white center, maple leaf. Don't place pole yet.
   • Mountie: neck, hair, head, crown of hat, hatband, eyes, hat brim, lip, moustache, L sleeve, L glove, flag pole, L fingers, L jacket, R sleeve, R glove, R jacket, shoulder epaulettes and collar, pockets, shoulder strap and belt.
2. When everything is in place, press completely.
3. Using 1 strand of brown embroidery floss, make a stitch for his nose.
4. Machine satin stitch or blanket stitch around all appliqué pieces using matching thread. With gold thread satin stitch buttons and a belt buckle.
