T-Stars" Quilt by Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek
Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek brings us this gorgeous
T-Star quilt, worked up in the REGENCY
COLLECTION III by Judie Rothermel & The New England

Fabric
Requirements & Cutting Guide
- (25) Assorted Regency III Prints From each
print, cut:
- Four, 2 x 5 rectangles
Eight, 2 squares (draw a diagonal line on the wrong
side of each)
(For charm squares, cut one 2 x 5 rectangle and
two, 2 squares from each.)
- Lancaster Muslin:
- Cut thirteen, 5 strips width of fabric; cross-cut
102, 5 squares (connector squares & border
corners)
- Cut twenty-five, 2 strips width of fabric;
cross-cut 194, 2 x 5 rectangles
- Cut seven, 1-1/4 strips; piece together and cut
two, 59 lengths and two, 68 lengths (inner border)
Cut seven, 1-1/2 strips; piece together and cut two,
59 lengths and two, 68 lengths (outer border)
- Triangle/Sawtooth Print:
- Cut off sawtooth strips 1/4 from each side of
sawtooth triangle line length of fabric, for a 3-1/4
wide border;
cross-cut two 59 and two 68 lengths for middle
border.
- Cut two, 2-1/4 strips length of fabric to total
approx. 300 for binding.
Piece together remainder of triangle print for backing.

Making the T-Blocks:
With
right sides together, layer a 2 print square on one end of a
2 x 5 muslin rectangle as shown in Diagram A. Stitch on
drawn line, trim and press to print. Repeat these steps,
layering 2 print square as shown in Diagram B. Make 97 each
of the A and B units.
With right sides together, stitch one A unit and one B unit
to each side of a 2 x 5 rectangle of same print as shown
in Diagram C. Make four of each print. (You will only need a
total of 97.)
Putting It Together:
Alternating muslin connector squares and T-blocks, stitch
together fifteen rows, rotating T-blocks in each row as shown
below. Press to connector squares. Stitch 1-1/4 x 59
muslin strips to inside of 59 sawtooth strips. Stitch 1-1/2
muslin strips to outside of sawtooth strips and stitch to top
and bottom of quilt. Repeat for side borders stitching the 68
muslin strips to each side of the 68 sawtooth strips as
described for top and bottom borders. Stitch a 5 muslin
square to each end and stitch to quilt, pressing to border. |
