| Backing:
4-1/2 yd fabric B, cut in half from selvedge to selvedge to make
(2) pieces, then sew together along selvedge edges. Cut to
80" square for quilt backing. |
| Binding:
2/3 yd pink pindot, cut (8) 2-1/4" x wof strips and sew
together end-to-end. |
Sewing the Blocks |
 Album
Blocks - Sew a fabric H triangle to opposite sides
of a fabric G piece. Make 16. Sew a fabric G piece to
opposite sides of a fabric H 4-3/4" square. Make 8. Sew
the units together to make the block. Make 8 blocks.

 Star
Blocks - Sew the small triangles E and F to each
side of a fabric H triangle. Make 16 sets in each fabric
combination to complete the star point units. Sew the fabric
E/H star point units to opposite sides of a fabric D square.
Make 4. Sew a fabric H square to each end of the remaining
E/H star points, then sew to the cat/star point units to
finish 4 Star blocks. Using the fabric F triangles and
fabric H triangles make the star point units then using the
fabric B 6-1/2" squares. Make 4 blocks.- Sashing Rows - Using 5 fabric E squares and (4) fabric H
sashingstrips, sew together a horizontal sashing row. Make
5.
- Block Rows - Sew the blocks together in rows alternating
the Star blocks and the Album blocks. Separate the 4 blocks
in each row with 5 fabric H sashing strips. Make 4 rows.
(Refer to the color photo of the quilt for block placement.)
- Alternate the 5 sashing rows and the 4 blocks rows to sew
the center of the quilt together.
- Using fabric C border strips sew the vertical borders to
the quilt then the horizontal borders.
- Sew the vertical fabric A borders to the quilt top, then
the horizontal fabric A borders.

Finishing |
- Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Baste, then
quilt the layers together.
- Sew the fabric H binding strips together end to end, fold
over lengthwise and sew to quilt top. Turn binding to back
of quilt and stitch in place.
